MEET THE ROELEVELD QUANTITY SURVEYORS TEAM

Quantity Surveyor
BSc QS (Honors), Pr QS, Bcomm, MAQS

Leonard has more than four years experience in Quantity Surveying and Project Management.
He is an Associated Quantity Surveyor (Registration No. 5464) registered with The South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession.

He also holds a certificate in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management and Project Management from the University of the Free State as well as a B.COMM degree in Information Technology from the North West University.

His career began after completing his studies at the University of North West in 2004 where he worked as a Consumer Amplifier for British American Tobacco, and at the same time studied Quantity Surveying at the University of the Free State. In April 2006, Leonard joined Roeleveld Quantity Surveyors as a junior QS working on school projects.

Since 2006 Leonard has grown into a position where he is able to fulfil duties of a Quantity Surveyor and a Project Manager he is currently doing schools for Coega as an implementing agent. He is also completing his honours degree in Quantity Surveying at the end of 2009.

Leonards duties includes the preparation of initial budgets and feasibility studies prior to detailed design, monitoring the design in terms of capital expenditure, advising on contractual and tendering options, preparing tender and contract documentation, receiving tenders and advising on the appointment of a suitable contractor, managing cash flow during construction, arranging payments to contactors and evaluating the final cost of the project. He is also involved in principal agent duties reporting on progress of projects and managing the professional team from conception to close out stage. His reporting on projects consists of assessment reports, financial reports, monthly reports and close out reports.
